Songbird's Rest

A pixel drawing of the empty tavern room, seen from the doorway. The tattered banners of the nine great houses hang in a row from a beam, and ropes strung across the ceiling behind them hold dried herbs, small sacks, and strings of garlic. A map is pinned to the left wall, beside a stone hearth where a fire burns. On the back wall are the notice board with three wanted posters, a portrait of the King in a dark gilt frame, and a door under a set of antlers, with a bookshelf of bound volumes below the board, topped with a skull and a stack of scrolls. A songbird sits in a cage that hangs over the counter. In the middle of the room is an alchemy table with a candle, a rack of glass vials in green, amber, and red, a flask on a stand, a still over a small burner with a copper coil, and a mortar and pestle. On the right, a great ledger lies open on a lectern at the end of the counter, in front of shelves of bottles and jugs.
