Event I, July 2022. The Day of Mist had revealed the Annwyn, and settlers crowded into Gateway to cross the mists.
Eleven prologuesThe first run and nine of the ten events
This page holds eleven Eldritch prologues. Nine come from the ten events of the campaign, and two come from the first run.

A prologue set out the state of the Annwyn before an event, as the characters knew it. Each one was written as a document from inside the setting.
Event I, July 2022. The Day of Mist had revealed the Annwyn, and settlers crowded into Gateway to cross the mists.
Event II, March 2023. The King had turned toward the Aurorym, and a great pilgrimage of the faithful had come to Gateway.
Event III, November 2023. Witchcraft had spread through the Annwyn, and only Mistvale had been spared.
Event IV, March 2024. House Laurent had held on through a hard winter, and the Richter army had taken Gateway.
Event V, October 2024. House Laurent had fallen, and civil war had spread through the Sovereignlands.
Event VI, April 2025. The Obans had been found guilty of the attack on Carran, and the Godslayers were arming.
Event VII, October 2025. The King had died in the Annwyn, and four claimants had raised their banners.
Event VIII, April 2026. The King was dead, and four armies marched in the spring.
Event IX, July 2026. No prologue for this event was found, and its story appears in the prologue to Event X.
Event X, October 2026. King Leander was crowned, and Oblivion came for Mystvale.
The first run began in 2018, and the staff restarted its story in 2021. These two prologues come from it.
Event 0, 2018. King Giles II summoned the great houses of Arnesse to the Ruby Pavilion in Highcourt.
Event 1. The nobles of the Annwyn were called to a meeting at a site held in trust for the King.
The prologues appear as they were written. Only obvious typing errors were fixed. Sections that repeated the earlier history of the Annwyn, or that gave travel, housing, and building rules or other instructions to players, were left out, and each page says what it leaves out. Where a prologue set rules for an event, a short note beside the text records them.
Older documents spell the town Mistvale, and later ones spell it Mystvale. Each prologue keeps its own spelling.
